Websites

Updated October 1, 2026

Drop Cowboy® can host a website you build from a template or with AI. It can also track visitors on a site you run somewhere else. Every site you add is under Web in the left menu.

Create a website

  1. Open Web in the left menu and click Add. If you have no sites yet, click Add Website. If you don't see Web, ask your account owner for access.
  2. Pick one of the three choices:
Choice What happens next
Build a new site with Drop Cowboy You pick a template, describe your business to AI, or start blank. See Build a site with AI.
Import my existing site You enter the Site URL, tick pages under Select pages to import, then check them on Review import. Imported pages become editable blocks.
I have a site elsewhere You enter a Website Name and Website URL, then click Add Tracking. The Setup tab shows a tracking script to paste on your site.
  1. To build from scratch, choose Build a new site with Drop Cowboy, then click Skip - start blank.
  2. Fill in Website Name and Subdomain. The subdomain is your site's address until you connect your own domain.
  3. Click Create My Site. The Pages tab opens with your first pages.

If you left a new site before finishing, Add Website shows Continue editing so you can pick up where you stopped.

If it doesn't work:

  • The subdomain is already taken. Try a variation, such as adding your city, then click Create My Site again.
  • An import misses pages. Go back to Select pages to import, tick the missing pages, and run the import again.

Build a site with AI

  1. Open Web in the left menu, click Add, then choose Build a new site with Drop Cowboy.
  2. On Pick a starting point, choose a template from Platform or Your Templates. To have AI design a template, click Generate custom template. To skip templates, click Skip - describe my business to AI.
  3. Fill in Website Name and Subdomain.
  4. Add your Business Address if you want it on the site.
  5. Under Phone Number, choose Use a Phone Line to show one of your Drop Cowboy numbers, or Enter a number manually.
  6. In Describe your business, write two or three sentences about what you sell and who you serve.
  7. Optional: open Advanced: fine-tune AI writing and set Industry, Services or Products, Target Audience and Tone.
  8. Click Create My Site. AI writes your pages, and they open in the Pages tab as drafts.

Nothing is live yet. Read each page, fix anything AI got wrong, then publish it.

If it doesn't work:

  • The copy sounds generic. Add specifics to Describe your business, such as your service area and what makes you different, then create the site again.
  • The tone is off. Use Site-wide AI to change it on every page at once. See Edit your pages.

Edit your pages

  1. Open Web in the left menu, click your site, then click the Pages tab.
  2. Click a page to open it in the editor. To add a page, click Add Page, fill in Page Title and Path, then click Create Page.
  3. Click any section of the page to select it. Change its text, images and links in the settings on the right.
  4. To add a section, click + Add section between two sections. In Add a block, pick from Blocks, or from My Library for blocks you saved.
  5. Use the icons above a selected block to Move up, Move down, Duplicate, Copy to library or Remove block.
  6. Switch pages with Browse all pages. Click Exit when you're done.

Your edits save as a draft as you work, and the top bar shows Draft saved. Click Save draft to save right away.

Add a block groups its blocks like this:

Block group What it's for
Marketing Heroes, features, testimonials, pricing, FAQs, stats, team and article sections
Media Images, video, maps, animation, social links and embeds
Site chrome The header, footer and breadcrumbs shared by every page
Help & docs Help center pages, article search and code examples
Legal Privacy policy, terms and other legal documents
Long-form & series Long documents with a table of contents and related documents
Integrations Contact Form, Chat Widget, Booking and Payment Buttons

To manage a page's settings, use the menu on its card in the Pages tab: Edit SEO, Set as Home, Duplicate, View Live or Delete.

Ask AI to edit a block

  1. Select the block, then find Ask AI to edit this block on the right.
  2. Choose Simple to make the change right away, or Vibe to talk it through with AI before anything changes.
  3. Describe the change, such as "Make the headline shorter," then click Edit with AI in Simple or Discuss it in Vibe.

Change something on every page

  1. In the editor, click Site-wide AI.
  2. Describe one change, such as "Point every call-to-action button at /pricing." Choose Vibe first if you want to discuss it.
  3. Click Preview changes. On Review before anything changes, untick anything you don't want.
  4. Click the apply button, which shows how many changes go into your draft.
  5. To reverse it, click Undo everything. Later, reopen Site-wide AI and click Undo last site-wide change.

If it doesn't work:

  • Embed HTML is locked. Click it to open brand verification. Once your brand is verified in the Trust Center, reopen Add a block.
  • The top bar says Save failed. Click Save draft. If it fails again, copy your latest text, reload the editor and paste it back.

Publish your site

You publish one page at a time. Visitors can't see a page until you publish it, even if other pages on the site are live.

  1. Open Web in the left menu, click your site, then open the page from the Pages tab.
  2. Optional: click Preview link to get a private link you can check on your phone. Preview links don't show up in search results.
  3. Click Publish. The badge changes to Published, and Live site: shows the page's address.
  4. Repeat for every page you want live. New sites come with privacy policy and terms pages as drafts. Publish them before you link them in a web form.

When you edit a published page, its badge changes to Draft - unpublished changes. Visitors see the last published version until you click Publish again.

If it doesn't work:

  • Publish opens Publish to Production. Publishing adds site hosting to your plan. Click Manage Plan to add the site, then click Publish again. See Billing and usage.
  • A link on your site goes to a missing page. The linked page is still a draft. Open it from Pages and click Publish.
