Drop Cowboy integrates with Zapier to let you trigger ringless voicemail and SMS messages from your existing business tools. Connect your CRM, lead capture forms, or any of Zapier's 5,000+ supported apps.

Note: Drop Cowboy is an Action in Zapier. You'll set up a trigger from another app (like your CRM), and Drop Cowboy will send the ringless voicemail or SMS as the action.

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Sign Up for Drop Cowboy

If you haven't already, create a Drop Cowboy account. You'll need an active account with at least one recorded voicemail message before setting up Zapier.

Find Drop Cowboy on Zapier

Visit the Drop Cowboy integration page on Zapier to see available templates and get started. Drop Cowboy is a public integration - no invite needed.

Create a New Zap

Log into Zapier and click "Create Zap" or choose one of the pre-built Drop Cowboy templates to get started quickly.

Set Up Your Trigger

Search for and select your trigger application. This is the app that will trigger Drop Cowboy to send a message. In this example, we're using Pipedrive with a "New Deal" trigger.

Connect Your Trigger Account

Allow Zapier to access your trigger application's API key. This key is usually found in your app's settings or integrations section.

Add Drop Cowboy as the Action

Click "Add Step" on the left side, then choose "Action/Search" to add the Drop Cowboy action.

Search for Drop Cowboy

In the action search bar, type "Drop Cowboy" and select it from the results.

Select "Send Voicemail"

Choose "Send Voicemail" as the action, then click "Save + Continue".

Connect Your Drop Cowboy Account

Click "Connect Account" to link your Drop Cowboy account to Zapier.

Get Your API Credentials

Log into your Drop Cowboy account and click API under the My Account tab in the top right of your portal.

Copy Team ID and Secret

Copy your Team ID and Secret. Click the eye icon to reveal the Secret code.

Paste Credentials into Zapier

Paste both the Team ID and Secret into Zapier, then click "Yes, Continue".

Configure Phone Number Field

Click the + sign and choose "Phone Number" - this maps the phone number field from your trigger app to Drop Cowboy.

Tip: If your trigger app doesn't have a dedicated phone number field, map whatever field contains the phone numbers you want to send voicemails to.

Set Your Caller ID

Enter the caller ID you want displayed on the voicemail notification. This is the number recipients will see and call back on.

Select Your Recording

Choose which voicemail recording to send. You can create different recordings in your Drop Cowboy account for different automation workflows.

Note: Recordings must be created in your Drop Cowboy account first. Make sure to label them clearly so you can identify the correct one in Zapier.

Test and Activate Your Zap

Click "Continue" and test your Zap. Once everything works, turn your Zap on from the main dashboard by toggling the switch to the green "on" position.
