Site Builder overview
The Site Builder is Drop Cowboy’s visual editor for hosted websites. You compose pages from blocks (hero sections, text, images, forms, and more) instead of writing HTML by hand.
Open the editor
- Go to Websites and select your hosted site.
- Click Pages in the website dashboard.
- Open a page or create a new one to enter the block editor.
Blocks and layout
Pages are built from blocks stacked vertically. Common block types include:
- Hero — Headline, subhead, and call-to-action buttons at the top of a page.
- Text — Rich text for body copy, lists, and links.
- Image — Photos or graphics with optional captions.
- Form — Lead capture fields that tie into Drop Cowboy contact flows when configured.
- Columns — Side-by-side content for features or comparisons.
Click a block to edit its content in the sidebar. Drag blocks to reorder them. Delete blocks you no longer need.
Pages and navigation
Each hosted site can have multiple pages (for example Home, About, Contact). Every page has its own URL path under your site subdomain:
https://{site-slug}.sites.dc-websites.com/about
Use clear page titles and paths so visitors and search engines understand your site structure.
AI-generated starting points
When you create a site with Generate with AI, Drop Cowboy drafts an initial set of blocks from your business description. Treat this as a starting point — review every section for accuracy, compliance, and brand voice before publishing.
Themes and styling
Themes control fonts, colors, and default spacing across your site. You can switch themes from the site settings without rebuilding pages from scratch. After changing a theme, preview the site and publish when you are satisfied.
Save vs publish
Edits in the builder are saved as drafts until you Publish. Visitors only see published versions. See Publish your site for the full publish workflow.
Tips
- Keep hero headlines short and specific to your offer.
- Add a contact or signup form on your main landing page.
- Preview on mobile — most blocks reflow automatically, but check button labels and image crops.
- Re-read compliance-sensitive copy (health, finance, telemarketing) before going live.
