Register your business for SMS

Before sending application-to-person SMS from US local phone numbers, register the business that will send the messages. In Drop Cowboy, this starts in Trust Center.

Before you begin

Have accurate business information available, including the legal business name, any DBA name, business address, and the required tax identifier for the entity type you select. Enter sensitive business information only in the secure registration fields in the dashboard.

Do not put tax IDs, Social Security numbers, payment information, or other sensitive personal information into message samples or AI Assist prompts.

Register the brand

  1. Open Trust Center in the dashboard.
  2. Select Add brand and choose the business entity type that matches your organization.
  3. Enter the requested business identity and contact information exactly as it appears in your official records.
  4. Review the information, then submit the brand for verification.
  5. Wait for the brand status to update before using it for a messaging campaign.

What happens next

Brand registration identifies the organization. It does not describe the messages you plan to send. Create a separate SMS campaign registration for each distinct messaging purpose, such as appointment reminders, account notifications, customer care, or marketing.

Important

Keep your registration current and accurate. Carrier and registry review decisions are independent, and submission does not guarantee approval or delivery. This article provides general product information, not legal advice. Consult qualified counsel for questions about your legal obligations.
